The Lyin’ Kings

I’ve decided to leave an extended response to the lies and misrepresentations of people like Wayne Besen, Emily Kesselman, and Timothy Kincaid on a permanent page (above) called “Lyin’ Kings.”

A few excerpts:

My favorite Besen Two is the following: “mainstream newspapers don’t pay for op-eds. It seems that Bianco may be misleading people as far as getting paid by these publications.” Actually, mainstream papers do pay for op-eds. The biggest ones I’ve written for pay $100, $150, even $400. It’s not as much as I’d like, but for Besen to claim that I am misleading people because he’s ignorant about the newspaper business is pretty pathetic.

Emily Kesselman pulled another Kesselman when she used the following phrase, in quotes, to refer to me: “pro-gay marriage defender.” Problem is, I never used those words or anything like them. I don’t agree with them. If she wants to make up a phrase to explain her twisted view of me, fine, but don’t put it in quotes to make it sound like I said them.

My favorite “Kincaid” came when the eponymous teller of tall tales criticized me for writing on May 20 that Armistead Maupin agreed with the 2006 “Beyond Marriage” statement he signed opposing the primary emphasis on marriage by the LGBT leadership…. because he told a Bay Area newspaper on May 29 that he was “excited” by the California marriage decision. As if I was supposed to have read Maupin’s mind or something.
